The Emblem Family
As far back as the early 1960s, the Emblem family first started their venture into the lifting industry, with the introduction of mobile crane services.
During this time, the oil industry in Norway was blooming. This growth led to new business and construction, and through the years, Vest Kran's equipment became more modern, larger and the projects more complex and heavier.
1993: Kollsnes Construction
By the 1990s, Vest Kran had a strong engagement into the oil and gas industry. Then with the new construction of Kollsnes
, it turned into the commitment of a long relationship.
1994:
The Largest Mobile Crane in the World
In 1994, Vest Kran made a leap of faith. They purchased the largest mobile crane in the world. This would later become a great milestone in the company history.
1997: The First Wind Turbine
Vest Kran installed their first wind turbine in Norway and entered early into the Wind Energy market.
2005: Again, The Largest
Crane
Emblem ordered the largest mobile crane in the world once again.
2007: And Again...
Vest Kran ordered a 1000-ton Demag
from Germany. This was again the largest mobile crane in the world at the time.
Today, Vest Kran is one of the leading full service providers of Engineered Heavy Lifting and Logistics in Scandinavia, and has a huge crane, vehicle and equipment park including access to over 1800 tower cranes.
