Wednesday November 13th the Swedish Crown Princess visited Piteå municipality to take part in the initiatives of renewable energy.
First stop was the tour of Skogberget, the project Vest Kran is a part of. The entire project involves 1,101 windmills. The facility is approx. 450 km2.
Skogberget will become the largest onshore wind farm. Approx. 55 billion Swedish kroner is invested in the project.
At year-end 2013/2014 36 wind turbines will be completed and in use.
All the staff at Vest Kran who were able to observe her closely, said she seemed very interested in the work and what the work entailed.
Vest Kran was chosen to control everything regarding logistics and lifting of components for these 138 meter high power plants .
When the wind farm is completed the 1101 windmills will constitute 8 percent of Sweden's energy consumption.
By Skogberget the Crown Princess was hoisted up in the air by Vestkran .
The visit was completed with a handshake.
